Planning a Next For You That Brings Fulfillment and Joy to Your Life

Ask yourself this question: “If I were to sell my business next month, what do I want besides a big check?” It’s a great question, and one you need to know the answer to. In 2014 I unexpectedly had the chance to sell my business. I had never thought about what was next, what was beyond my business. It happened within months, and soon I had a huge check and time to do some things I always wanted to do. And it was great for a while; then reality set in. I was 58 years old, hopefully with a lot of life ahead of me and no real plan for what was next. I struggled for the next two years causing grief for myself and my family, especially my wife of 40 years. Let’s use my experience to plan a next for you that brings fulfillment and joy.

Real Life Experience From Someone Just Like You

With over 40 years of professional small business experience, 25 of which was spent as either the CEO or owner of a small business, I have walked a mile in your shoes. I have real world experience addressing the challenges of making payroll and managing employee issues. I have gained and lost customers large and small. I have battled competition, negotiated with vendors and banks, and maneuvered through legal disputes. I have lived your life in business.

Work With Someone Who Understands Your Business Inside and Out

Looking for someone that understands your industry? I have a 40 year association with the construction trade. I can walk the walk and talk the talk. I am aware of the shrinking labor pool and increased demands put upon the trades. Over the years I’ve had a working relationship with suppliers, general contractors and subcontractors. I understand the feast or famine nature of construction, the higher risks, and the modest profits. However, there are ways to manage profits, mitigate risks, and put predictability into your business. Contact me and let’s get started.

Some Words From Our Clients

Since starting my business, Steve has been there every step of the way. He has a distinct ability to listen and make the coaching process very easy. From day one, we set a plan in place, and Steve was instrumental in keeping my business on track with that plan. “Work the plan” is a phrase I hear often. Sometimes his best coaching is just challenging my thought process. We have planned for every outcome and milestone that has been reached in my business and that is a direct reflection on Steve. Without a doubt, my business’ success is due in large part to Steve and his coaching ability. Fast Track Construction would not be where it is today without Steve.

Steve has truly helped direct me professionally throughout this past year. His experience and no-nonsense approach to business growth is exactly what I need to give me assurance that I’m on the right path, help correct thought patterns that might inhibit business growth and development and propel me forward. I just wish I would have used his expertise more often this year, as I feel it would have benefited me even more. Learned my lesson and will be meeting with him more often this year. Can’t afford not to! Thank you, Steve for all your guidance.

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s the difference between a coach and a consultant?
It’s a great question as sometimes the lines between the two can be blurred. A consultant is generally hired to examine your business and tell you what’s wrong with it or where it could be better. They are paid to be right! A coach, on the other hand, realizes the client and their staff are the experts in their field and especially their company. The true expertise of a coach is coaching the process of getting you from where you are to where you want to be.
How can you coach me if you don’t know anything about my business?
Far and away this is the biggest concern of potential clients. At its core, business is business. We all have similar issues. One of the biggest values a coach brings to the table is a fresh set of eyes and ears.
Are you certified?
Yes, I am a certified professional coach. I completed my certification in 2017 but I have been involved in coaching since 2010.
How long does it take?
I know it sounds like “coach speak” but it really does depend on the issue and most importantly the client. The client’s openness, and willingness to do the work, will be the biggest factor in how long it takes.
How long is a coaching session?
The first session is complimentary and is by far the longest session. Moving forward the average session is 45 to 60 minutes.
Do you use assessments like DISC or Meyers Briggs?
The short answer is no. I am investigating a couple and may add it in the future, but presently it is not part of what I offer.
What is the cost?
Quite simply I do not have an hourly rate. Pricing is generally based on client type, how they wish to be coached and sometimes the issue. This information is gathered during the complimentary session and cost can be determined shortly thereafter.
